Media Caffeine is many things, but first and foremost it is a blog network.  The concept is to offer fresh links to strong sources across the blogosphere, not to steal their content, but rather to highlight portions of it in hopes of driving traffic and quality links to them.

Members of the networks can post excerpts of their stories here.  These excerpts are preceded by extended descriptions letting readers know what the concept of the story is about, therefore making it possible to scan the stories of dozens of blogs without having to click to ones that do not fall within the readers’ interests.

There are many blog networks out there, but most are either niche or automated.  This one is completely manually crafted.  All excerpts are written by someone on staff who has read the article and can effectively summarize them in 2-4 paragraphs.  The goal is to build up enough strength and traffic to start become a central hub for small and medium size blogs to get their work out to as many people as possible.

Because this network is supervised by a social media and search engine optimization firm, all of the content is maximized for exposure with traffic driving primarily at heart.  What good is a blog network if it cannot be found?  What good is participation if it has no value.
