Sometimes all it takes to stay awake is a little stimulation.

Teachers, Fire Fighters, Police Officers and Social Workers are all worthy of our appreciation and praise. They serve our communities day in and day out, sometimes with rewards that are not in proportion to their service. It would be great to show our appreciation beyond words, but these days giving gifts is getting tougher.
One solution is group gifting. Instead of giving small gifts from individual members of the community, you can pool cash with a new online service, eDivvy.com that allows you to pitch in on a larger gift. Following are some suggestions of items you can give to these humble community heroes, made affordable by using the group gifting concept.
Can you remember watching a movie in class, squinting because the TV was much too small? Well, split between 12 people, you can give a 50” Plasma HDTV for about $125! How’s that for a gift that keeps on giving?
Our brave Fire Fighters spend a significant amount of down-time at the Fire Station. How about giving them a bit of entertainment to help ease the stress? An XBOX 360 can be had for less than $30 when split between 12 people.
Oh, and don’t forget the games and extra controllers
The stress caused by the act of risking their lives every day for the good of the community undoubtedly takes a great toll on a Police Officer’s personal life. At the same time, that shared risk, creates a strong sense of camaraderie between the men and women in blue. A nice Bumper Pool Table for the break room, so the Officers can have a bit of time to unwind together, can be bought for around $50 per person split between 12.
Social workers deal directly with individuals, families and communities, working tirelessly to help improve quality of life, often with frustrating limitations beyond their control. Split among 12 people, you can give a very nice 15” Digital Photo Frame for less than $25 per person so the special Social Worker in your life can keep close to loved ones.
Do you have any gift suggestions for our community heroes? Let us know in the comment section. But more importantly, make the commitment to show you care, even if it’s just a simple verbal acknowledgement.
