Yes, really. Rush Limbaugh! The Musical.

The conservative talk show host who is often a punchline in liberal-slanted jokes can add another venue to his list of follies: the musical stage. “Rush Limbaugh! The Musical” previews on January 31 and officially opens February 3 in Chicago with a scheduled 7-week run.

Second City, the troupe that recently spoofed a shamed politician in Rod Blagojevich Superstar!, will be focusing their flare for humor and controversy on a man known for the same traits. The show is billed as one that “takes us back to Rush’s humble beginnings and follows his ascent to conservative dominance.

The list of characters includes Republicans Ann Coulter, Karl Rove, and Donald Rumsfeld as well as Democrats Hillary Clinton and Barney Frank.

While it is intended as a spoof, it is intended to be a quality musical. According to their blog, “The writing, the music, the dancing are excellent. Even if you don’t much like or care about politics…you will still enjoy this show.”

According to FoxNews, it is “Certainly not expected to be an endearing look at the radio talk show host.”

This video from the Second City site and rendered by Politico shows us that Fox is probably right on the money with their statement.
