NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden is back in the news going after the Obama administration. This time, he’s soliciting help from one of the most powerful companies in the world: tech giant Apple.
Snowden spoke through an email via his lawyer that defended Apple and other tech companies for their fight against government spying and technological oppression. A refuge abroad, he reached out to The Intercept to give some of the details:
In his email, Snowden explained how law enforcement officials who are demanding that U.S. companies build some sort of window into unbreakable end-to-end encryption — he calls that an “insecurity mandate” — haven’t thought things through.
