Republicans love to hate Jimmy Carter. He isn’t a bad man. He nearly destroyed the country in a single term of office as President before Ronald Reagan fixed things, but he wasn’t doing it out of malice. He just wasn’t very politically intelligent.
The years have been kind to his cognitive abilities and now he has nailed his “endorsement” on the man he prefers: Donald Trump. He likes that Trump is “malleable” and that he’s not burdened with “fixed opinions.”
He definitely doesn’t like Ted Cruz who is “not malleable.”
